We have assembled a dynamic and skilled team that is dedicated to providing top-notch service through effective communication and a commitment to quality. We take great pride in our diverse group of professionals who possess a wide range of expertise.

Leading our team is our esteemed OGE Director, Sean, who has a wealth of experience in managing and guiding our company to success over the years. We are proud to have some of the best staff Taupo has to offer, and pride ourselves on a strong and collaborative team culture.

As a proud Taupo-based business, we actively support our local community. We prioritize working with fellow local businesses, contribute to fundraising events, and collaborate with educational institutions, including providing opportunities for gateway students and apprentices from the area.

ABOUT US

Sean McCullough

Managing Director

Sean McCullough – Off Grid’s fearless leader, Sean is the owner/operator of Off Grid Electrical.

Sean is a family man with 4 awesome kids. Sean is a super keen hunter/fisherman who generally loves getting outdoors. He also has a passion for water skiing with his kids.

He has a massive range of skills which he has acquired from working in power generation, high voltage transmission, commercial, industrial and domestic sectors of the electrical industry as well as heat pump installations. Sean has a real knack for finding the right solution for the customer, backed by a growing team who are proud to call him their boss.

Josh Keys

Operations Manager

Josh Keys is a husband to his lovely wife, dad of 2 young boys and loves the outdoors- anything with guns, motors or hooks Josh is there.

Josh comes from Mercury Geothermal team and is a qualified electrician/ instrument technician. Josh is our operations manager and is learning the ropes on running the crew here at Off Grid.

Josh also has an extensive skill set on the tools which can be utilized when necessary.

Scott Buchanan

Registered Electrician / Project Supervisor / Electrical Inspector

Qualified electrician and soon-to-be qualified electrical inspector, Scott is a married man with two beautiful kids.

Scott is a family man who loves 4WD, jet boating and going for cruises on his Harley.

Scott has worked in the commercial, residential and industrial sites which make him a very valued senior member of Off Grid team. He has a well rounded skill set and is always keen to take on the big jobs!

Jacob Skipper

Apprentice Electrician

Jacob (Skip) is our team’s youngest member. Just leaving school and starting his apprenticeship last year, Skip has showed great value to the team with a great hard-working, can-do attitude. There’s nothing too hard for Skip: he was built to work.

Brandon Renata

Apprentice Electrician

Brandon is one our apprentices who is into everything fitness and health, and we hear he is a weapon on the rugby field.

Brandon has a wide range of talents. Owing to his extremely soft-spoken and polite manner, Brandon has quickly become a valued member of our team.

Caleb Bate

Apprentice Electrician

Caleb joined Off-Grid Electrical in June 2024 after returning to the industry to complete his apprenticeship after having some time off to play professional cricket overseas.

Caleb has experience in residential and commercial electrical installations and brings a keen enthusiasm to upskill and is aiming to be one of the best electricians in town once he qualifies.

With a hard-working attitude, he is ready to get the job done and get it done well.

Outside of work, he enjoys fitness, cricket and all things outdoors. Caleb is ex- military; you don’t want to mess with him.
